Final Dean Candidate Visits Campus

Robert Buckla, the third and final dean candidate for the Russell J. Jandoli School of Journalism and Mass Communications, will meet with students today at 3:30 p.m. in the Quick Center for the Arts auditorium.

Buckla, according to demontassociates.com, is the senior director of college programs in the Office of Institutional Advancement at the Illinois Institute of Technology. 

He holds a bachelor’s degree from St. Bonaventure University and a master’s in education from Vanderbilt University.

Residence Halls Closing

All residence halls will close on Saturday at 10 a.m. for the spring break. 

Students wishing to stay on campus during break must register at RC 202 by Friday. Only students who sign the vacation housing agreement will be permitted to stay on campus. 

Extended Deadline: Journey to Salamanca – Spain

A $500 deposit and application due date has been extended to April 8 for the Immersion Program that offers six St. Bonaventure credits in Spanish.

The program includes room and board with selected host families with all meals in Salamanca, hotel and two meals in overnight cultural excursions to Madrid, Segovia, Toledo, Sevilla, Cordoba, Granada and Portugal.

Pre-departure class meetings, basic medial insurance, books for courses and all transportation in Europe are included. Not included are airfare from United States to Madrid, passport and personal expenses.

Spring Weekend T-shirt Design Competition  

Student Government Association wants students to design this year’s Spring Weekend T-shirt.

From drawing on paper to professionally designing on Adobe Illustrator, SGA requires specific rules for designs that must be submitted by March 30 to sga@sbu.edu.

After all the designs are submitted, a vote will be cast for the student’s favorite shirt!
