By Joe Pinter, News Editor, @JPinter93

November 15, 1875

Fr. Pamfilo da Magliano was one of the founding members of St. Bonaventure University. After its establishment, he became the first president of the school.

However, after eight years as president, he chose to leave the United States and return to Rome. He left the school and the seminary in the hands of Fr. Diomede Falconio.

It was on this day that Fr. Pamfilo died at the Convent of St. Peter in Montorio, Rome at the age of 52.  He had hoped to return to Bonaventure but was never able to before his death.
