On Friday, October 4 Entrepreneurial, Action and Us (ENACTUS) plans to host an eight-hour marathon event with students riding on a homemade, four person teeter-totter. Each team will consist of four players and ride on the teeter-totter for 15 minutes. Each team is required to donate at least $40. The money will be donated to The Gift Of Life Bone Marrow Foundation. The event begins at 12 p.m. and will conclude at 8 p.m.
The Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation is one of the nation’s public bone marrow registries helping children and adults find donors for bone marrow transplants. The Gift Of Life has raised about 2.3 million dollars in funds this past year. The Gift Of Life has accounted for just over 22,000 newly registered donors. ENACTUS hopes to add on to those numbers.
Don’t want to teeter tot? Not a problem. There’s still fun things to do at the event. There will be raffle baskets, backyard games, music provided by WSBU, 88.3, The Buzz, a swab table to see if students are eligible to donate bone marrow and hamburgers and hot dogs.
See you October 4 at noon!
