The St. Bonaventure Bonnies dropped their second game of the season, 1-0 against the Niagara Purple Eagles in overtime.

Niagara sophomore, Nicholas Watson (Greenville, S.C.) kicked the game winning goal with 7:18 left in the extra period. The win pushed Niagara to 3-3 while the Bonnies fell to 0-2.

Bonaventure was limited to three shots in the first half before exploding for 10 shots in the second. Freshman Kieran Toland (Renfrewshire, Scotland) led the team with four shots. Garret Pasano (Rochester, N.Y.) and Jimmy Barrios (New Rochelle, N.Y.) both registered two shots against Niagara.

Redshirt senior Jeremy Figler (Grant Island, N.Y.) made four saves for the Bonnies, including two highlight reel, diving saves.

Julian Ekeze (Brockport, N.Y.) led Niagara with four shots. Goalkeeper, Joel Gerberich (Akron, Ohio) made six saves for the Purple Eagles in the shutout. Gerberich made an impressive save when Toland took a free-kick from just outside the goal box in the 75th minute. Andrew Ferguson (Ontario, Canada) registered the assist on the game-winning goal.

The Bonnies look for their first win of the season next Sunday when they travel to New Jersey to face off with the Rider Broncos (2-1-1). The Purple Eagles will return home to host the University of Detroit on Sunday.
