St. Bonaventure will play its third and final game of the Preseason WNIT on Saturday v.s. Drexel at 5 p.m in Philadelphia.
The Bonnies are coming off a 77-54 loss against a ranked DePaul squad in the second round of the championship bracket last Sunday. Senior Nyla Rueter led the way with 14 points while sophomores Miranda Drummond and Mariah Ruff added 11 points apiece. Drummond now has back-to-back games with double-figure scoring for the first time in her career.
Drexel began the season with a 69-53 victory over Dartmouth in the first round of the WNIT last Friday. Senior guard Rachel Pearson led the way with 21 points while junior forward Sarah Curran added 20. The Dragons lost 73-58 to South Florida on Sunday and fell from the WNIT championship bracket. Former high school teammates Pearson and Curran netted 15 points apiece.
Drexel has hit 10 shots from long range in its first two games. However, the Bonnies held them to just 28.6 percent (14 of 49) shooting from the floor last season when they faced off at the Brown University Classic.
After this game, the Bonnies will head home and host Detroit on Tuesday at 5 p.m at the Reilly Center.
