Some extra thoughts from the Bonnies’ 81-68 victory over Ohio.
The Foul Game:
-11 total fouls compared to last game’s 22
-Denzel Gregg stayed out of foul trouble- huge for the Bonnies to have him ready off the bench (nine points).
-Dion Wright only had two fouls, was able to play 37 total minutes- important against a tall Ohio squad.
-Ohio committed 20 fouls. Setty (16 points) and Kaminski picked up five and four, respectively.
Turnovers- or lack-thereof
-Bonnies only committed six total turovers
-Forced 13 Ohio turnovers
-Took care of the ball, had more chances on the offensive end.
-Bonnies had 20 points off Ohio’s turnovers- key to its fast break success.
Bench production
-After a slow start, Bonnies’ bench recorded 18 points. Took pressure off the starting five.
-Kaputo (three assists) spreads the floor and can get the ball to Posley and Adams on the wing.
-Gregg played 29 minutes and stayed clear of foul trouble, turning into an offensive threat with nine points off the bench. His athletic presence makes it difficult for opposing offenses to get to the hoop.
