Here are some notable stats and facts for St. Bonaventure men’s basketball with two games left in the regular season:
- Bona’s 12 A-10 wins are the most in program history, passing the 11 the 1999-2000 team won. That team was the last from SBU to make the NCAA Tournament with an at-large bid.
- The Bonnies are now 7-1 in games decided by five points or fewer, with Siena being the lone loss. Last season they were 3-7 in those games.
- The team is now 10-2 this season in games where it scores 80 or more points. Since the 2010-11 season, it is 42-5 when hitting that mark.
- When the Bonnies win the rebounding battle, as they did on Saturday, their record is 12-1. When they get outrebounded, their record is 7-6.
- When Bonaventure shoots more free throws than its opponent, its record is 15-0. When the opponent shoots more free throws, SBU is 4-7.
- The Bonnies are 15-0 when they lead with five minutes to play in regulation.
- When the Bonnies go with the starting lineup of Adams, Marcus Posley, Idris Taqqee, Dion Wright and Derrick Woods, they are 12-4. When Jordan Tyson is substituted for Woods, they are 5-3.
- Credit former Intrepid sports editor Joe Phelan for this final one: From the 1994-95 season to now, only four players have averaged 18 points, five assists and a steal a game and shot at least 45 percent from three-point range. Those players are Steve Nash of Santa Clara (1994-95 season), Travis Diener of Marquette (2003-04 season), Damon Stoudemire of Arizona (1994-95 season) and Jaylen Adams.
Of those players, Adams has averaged the most minutes (37.2) and has committed the fewest turnovers a game (2.8). The other three were NBA draft picks.
