St. Bonaventure women’s basketball sophomore guard Keely Fresh is out for the season with an upper body injury, a team official confirmed to The Intrepid on Monday.
The Lexington, Va. native, who appeared in 10 games for the Bonnies last season, scored nine points, recorded three steals and dished out two assists in 33 minutes played as a freshman. She made a three-pointer against Oregon State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Her role was expected to increase this season with the graduations of guards Emily Michael, Kelcie Rombach and Nyla Rueter.
SBU now has seven healthy guards on its roster; four are freshmen who have yet to play a college game. The Bonnies host Edinboro in an exhibition game on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in the Reilly Center.
Update: Sources tell The Intrepid Fresh has multiple tears in her labrum and needs to undergo a procedure to tighten her shoulder.
